The name of the Icon comes from the words of the Gospel according to Luke "as if to look upon the humility of His servant" The Savior, holding the Mother of God by the crotch, turns Her face to those who are praying, as if saying: "Look to the humility of those who turn to You with prayer, who ask for Your intercession."
