Fotina (Svetlana), martyr

The Holy Martyr Photina was the very Samaritan woman with whom the Savior talked at the well of Jacob (John 4: 5Ð42). During the time of the emperor Nero (54 - 68), who displayed extreme cruelty in the struggle against Christianity, Saint Photina lived in Carthage with her youngest son Josiah and there fearlessly preached the Gospel.
