About Blessed Estephan Nehme

Born Youssef Nehme in Lehfed on March 8, 1889, he entered the Lebanese Maronite Order at age 16, taking the name Estephanos. He lived a life of deep prayer and labor, serving as a “worker monk” in the fields and monasteries of the Lebanese mountains. His constant motto, “God sees me,” shaped every action and inspired those around him.

Blessed Estephan died in the odor of sanctity on August 30, 1938, and when his tomb was opened in 1951, his body was found incorrupt. He was beatified on June 27, 2010 at the Monastery of Saints Cyprian and Justine in Kfifane, where pilgrims continue to seek his intercession.
